Elephantiasis is a disease which you will see mainly in hot weather countries.Countries which has cold weather, do not have elephantiasis disease. In this case hand and legs becomes swollen like elephant. You can treat elephantiasis by yoga, diet and proper lifestyle.


Mainly legs get swollen like elephant. Also skin also becomes very rough. Sometimes this symptom can be seen in hand.


It is one kind of infectious disease. Parasites get transmitted to leg by vector like mosquito and causes elephantiasis.

Treat elephantiasis with yoga-

Here are the yoga to treat elephantiasis-

1. Sarvangasana(Shoulder stand yoga pose)

2. Vramana pranayama (Breathing exercise while walking)

3. Sayan paschimottasana (Seatedforward bent yoga pose)

4. Agnisar Kriya

5. Sasangasana(Yoga Rabbit Pose)

Sarvangasana(Shoulder stand yoga pose) :

Sleep with front side upward on yoga mat.Bent your two legs .Place your hands in your back and straighten your  body up .Stay  for 3 minutes and breathe normally .This yoga posture has several benefits. While practicing sarvangasana, bloods will come towards head. Doing so will be beneficial for your brain. This yoga pose will also strengthen thyroid, parathyroid ,tonsil and salivary glands.

Vramana pranayama (Breathing exercise while walking):

Start walking , with 4 steps inhale air and with 4 steps exhale air .After repeating this 3-4 times , inhale air with 6 steps and exhale air with 6 steps .Continue it for 4-5 minutes .Try to increase the time of inhaling and exhaling gradually. It is advised to do this at morning . Vramana pranayama strengthen lungs and heart. It purifies blood. Old persons specially get more benefit from this pranayama.

Sayan paschimottasana (Seatedforward bent yoga pose):

 Sleep with front side upwards on yoga mat. Bent the upper portion of the body forward , hold right feet by right hand and left feet by left hand .Touch the knee with forehead .Sleep again like step one . This yoga pose makes spine flexible and flexible spine will give you a long lasting youth. It makes your nerves and glands more active. This yoga pose will also strengthen your several muscles in front and back of your body. It will also help you in case of constipation.

Agnisar Kriya :

Sit in Padmasana pose on yoga mat.Exhale air and then contract your abdomen. Then inhale air and expand abdomen slowly. Do it at least 10 times. It has several benefits. Agnisar kriya will help you to cure several diseases in your intestines. It will also increases hunger and strengthen your spleen and liver.

Sasangasana(Yoga Rabbit Pose) :

Sit on your knees on yoga mat and keep the body straight .Touch your knees with forehead .Move your back upward .Hold your feet with hands .Stay in this position for 3 minutes and breathe normally . Sasangasana has several benefits. This yoga pose will strengthen your spine and nerves. It will also activate your thyroid, pituitary, tonsil glands. In this yoga pose, blood will flow towards head, which will help your brain. This posture will help children to increase height.

Diet to treat elephantiasis-

You should totally avoid smoking and drinking in case of elephantiasis. Vegetarian food is recommended for health in this time.Along with this you should eat raw vegetables along with your meal.Apart from this diet plan , you need to tie a tape around your leg.
