Goitre is a disease which cause enlargement of thyroid gland. It can be found among many people. Generally people treat goitre by drugs or surgery, but it can be treated at home by yoga and diet also. Along with this lifestyle changes are required. Yogic remedies of goitre is described below.
The symptom of goitre is enlargement of thyroid gland. Enlargement of thyroid also causes problem in breathing. In case of Exophthalmic goitre, eyes get enlarged, heartbeat get increased .
One of the essential element we get from our food is iodine. If intake of iodine gets reduced, it leads to goitre.
Yoga poses to treat goitre-
Following yoga poses will help you to treat goitre.
1. Agnisar Kriya
2. Vaman dhauti(Stomach cleaning)
3. Vramana pranayama (Breathing exercise wile walking)
4. Sarvangasana(Shoulder stand yoga pose)
5. Matsyasana (Yoga Fish Pose)
6. Ushtrasana(Yoga camel pose)
Agnisar Kriya :
Sit in Padmasana pose on yoga mat.Exhale air and then contract your abdomen. Then inhale air and expand abdomen slowly. Do it at least 10 times. It has several benefits. Agnisar kriya will help you to cure several diseases in your intestines. It will also increases hunger and strengthen your spleen and liver.
Vaman dhauti(Stomach cleaning):
In the morning in empty stomach , drink slight warm water fully .Then insert finger in the throat and vomit the whole water . This yoga kriya will cleanse your stomach which will lead to purifying your body.
Vramana pranayama (Breathing exercise wile walking):
Start walking , with 4 steps inhale air and with 4 steps exhale air .After repeating this 3-4 times , inhale air with 6 steps and exhale air with 6 steps .Continue it for 4-5 minutes .Try to increase the time of inhaling and exhaling gradually. I will advise you to do this at morning . Vramana pranayama strengthen lungs and heart. It purifies blood. Old persons specially get more benefit from this pranayama.
Sarvangasana(Shoulder stand yoga pose) :
Sleep with front side upward on yoga mat.Bent your two legs .Place your hands in your back and straighten your body up .Stay for 3 minutes and breathe normally .This yoga posture has several benefits. While practicing sarvangasana, bloods will come towards head. Doing so will be beneficial for your brain. This yoga pose will also strengthen thyroid, parathyroid ,tonsil and salivary glands.
Matsyasana (Yoga Fish Pose):
Sit straight with your legs crossed on yoga mat.Sleep in this position with your front side upward. Bent your head in backward so that above portion of the head touch the ground .Hold your toes with your two hands .Stay for 2 minutes and breathe normally . Matsyasana will activate parathyroid gland .Which will increase calcium in your body. Also this yoga pose will make you look younger.
Ushtrasana(Yoga camel pose):
Sit on your knees on yoga mat and keep the body straight.Bent the body backward and hold your heels with hands.Lean your head backward and stay in this position. Stay in this position for 3 minutes and breathe normally. This yoga pose will make your spine flexible, which will make you younger. It will strengthen your front and back muscles.This posture will help children to increase height.
You need to maintain a healthy diet plan.It is better to avoid animal protein and intake more iodine rich vegetables in this time. Also you should to go to sea beach for some days. Sea breeze contains iodine , which will be helpful for you.
