According to Oxford dictionary, definition of influenza is ‘a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory passages causing fever, severe aching, and catarrh, and often occurring in epidemics’. Influenza or flu is a very common disease we all face in our life. Most of the cases , it is not so dangerous.But sometimes it causes influenza pandemic causing millions of death.So influenza prevention is more important than influenza treatment.Keeping your immunity strong by proper yoga practice and diet can cure influenza.Types of influenza, symptoms of influenza,causes of influenza and influenza treatment are below.
Influenza symptoms include cough, fever, fatigue in muscles , headaches , dehydration .Generally influenza symptoms are quite similar to the symptoms of cold and cough, but it is more painful.
According to yoga causes of influenza are weakness of tonsil , thyroid ,lungs . According to biology it happens due to flu virus . If virus attack lungs , then respiratory influenza happens . If virus attack intestine , then Castro-intestinal influenza happens . If virus attack nerves , then nervous influenza happens .Around 1918, 500 million people died due to influenza . Which is known as Spanish flu .Influenza pandemic happened in 1820, and it is happening in 2020 too. Influenza pandemic of 2020 is known as COVID-19.
1.During fever , you need to change breathe from one nostril to another after some times . You can do it closing the active nostril and inhaling and exhaling by another nostril .
2.After fever, one can practice Vramana pranayama , vaman dauti . Steps are below-
Vramana pranayama (Breathing exercise wile walking):
Vramana pranayama is a breathing exercise and not exactly yoga pose. You need to do following steps to do this breathing exercise. Start walking , with 4 steps inhale air and with 4 steps exhale air .After repeating this 3-4 times , inhale air with 6 steps and exhale air with 6 steps .Continue it for 4-5 minutes .Try to increase the time of inhaling and exhaling gradually. You should do this breathing exercise at morning. Vramana pranayama will strengthen your lungs and heart. This breathing exercise purifies blood. Old persons specially get more benefits from this pranayama.
Vaman dhauti(Stomach cleaning):
In the morning in empty stomach, drink slight warm water fully .Then insert fingers in the throat and vomit the whole water along with other substances of stomach. This yoga kriya will cleanse your stomach by removing impure acid, bile, mucus from wall of empty stomach. In this way it purifies your body also. Dhauti kriyas are different from yoga poses. According to hathayoga, If anyone become expert in dhauti, he can keep body totally disease free . Experts in dhauti can save their lives even after being poisoned as per hathayoga.
Proper diet plan is important for influenza treatment. Best diet plan for influenza is a three step diet-
- First get to know about your body weight. On first day, you need to have (your body weight/10) glass of coconut water and that mount of fruit juice. If your body weight is 70 kg, then it will be 7 glass. You should not take anything else apart from this.
- On second day,you need to have (your body weight/20) glass of coconut water and that mount of fruit juice.Apart from this , you can also have cucumber,tomato etc.
- On third day,you need to have (your body weight/30) glass of coconut water and that mount of fruit juice.You can also have other meal on this day.
With this diet plan, you will get rid of influenza soon.
